Sakcable, Georgia’s largest producer of cable products, has cemented its place as a successful company adhering to international standards and carving out its niche in the export market.
Complying with European standards and recommendations, Sakcable products have been successfully exported to Bulgaria. This achievement was facilitated by the retooling of the enterprise under the state program Enterprise Georgia, which enhanced the factory’s technical cycle, established a modern quality management system, and enabled the production of new types of cable products. As a result, production volume increased, providing greater opportunities to enter new markets.
“Increasing our performance has prepared us for export. We have made investments, increased our capacities, and equipped our enterprise with the latest machinery. Ultimately, we have become an attractive company for the Bulgarian market with high-quality products, a competitive pricing policy, and efficient operations, all in compliance with European standards and recommendations. The demand is growing in the international market, and we have obtained the EUR.1 certificate of preferential origin to facilitate our shipments. While we have been exporting before, we are excited to see Sakcable products enter the EU market. We hope to increase our export share as our team actively works on this, taking into account country-specific requirements and standards for electric wires. After manufacturing samples, we proceed with the stages of contracting,” – says Davit Kapanadze, Managing Director of Sakcable.
It is noteworthy that Sakcable products undergo a detailed inspection in the factory’s accredited quality control laboratory before being sent to both local and international market customers. This laboratory has been updated in accordance with European regulations, namely the European Directive LVD and CPR.
Sakcable products have been awarded the CE marking, confirming compliance with European legislation on health, safety, and environmental standards, allowing for free trade in the European market. The international company “Anta” has played a significant role in this success. Headquartered in Bulgaria, Anta specializes in the development and global distribution of construction materials, and they prioritize promoting Georgian products that meet international standards. This collaboration has been highly effective.
Additionally, the Georgian government’s efforts to diversify markets and promote Georgian products have been crucial in strengthening the export component and finding new markets. We frequently participate in exhibitions of electric cables in different countries, which helps Georgian producers take advantage of international markets. We are establishing the European standard and intend to expand our geographical reach in the near future,” – adds Kapanadze.
