How Solar Cables Support Efficient Solar Energy Generation

22.05.25

When it comes to solar energy, most of us immediately think of solar panels, inverters, and batteries. However, one important component often goes unnoticed. Despite accounting for only 4–5% of total solar project costs, the solar cable plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and long-term operation of the energy system.

The primary function of a solar cable is to reliably transmit the energy generated by solar panels to inverters or batteries while minimizing power loss. A solar cable is not just a technical necessity but a guarantee of smooth system performance – poor cable selection can jeopardize project safety, cause solar panels to overheat, and result in energy loss.

Sakcable’s Solar Cables for Efficient Panel Performance

Sakcable is the first company in Georgia to offer locally manufactured solar cables that meet international standards. These products stand out for their exceptional resistance to UV rays and extreme weather conditions – with an operating temperature range of 90–120°C, compared to the typical 70°C limit for standard cables.

Sakcable’s solar cables have a minimum lifespan of 25 years, which often matches or exceeds the service life of solar panels themselves. For added safety, the cables feature double insulation and a rodent-resistant additive, protecting them from physical damage.

International Standards for Long-Term Value

Sakcable’s solar cables are manufactured in compliance with EN 50618:2014 and IEC 62930:2017 standards, and are certified by TÜV Nord and the Czech Electrotechnical Testing Institute, confirming their safety and quality.

During a 7-month intensive testing process, key product parameters were evaluated, including UV resistance, mechanical strength, electrical properties, insulation and sheath composition, temperature durability, and the absence of halogens and toxic gases. The tests reaffirmed that Sakcable’s solar cables fully meet the requirements of modern energy systems.

Solar infrastructure begins with the right cable. Sakcable’s solar cables are built to ensure the long-term performance of solar panels and support a sustainable future. They contribute to the generation of energy from renewable sources, reduce carbon emissions, and help cultivate an environmentally clean tomorrow.
