A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between Sakcable and the Georgian Fire Prevention Association (GFPA), marking the beginning of a new strategic partnership. The document was signed by Davit Kapanadze, Managing Director of Sakcable, and Giorgi Bajelidze, Executive Director of the Georgian Fire Prevention Association.
As part of this partnership, the two organizations will conduct awareness campaigns and practical seminars focused on the role of fire-resistant cables in enhancing fire safety. The initiative aims to help reduce the number of fires caused by electrical faults.
“For years, Sakcable has been offering customers fire-resistant and halogen-free cables produced at our facility in full compliance with international standards. Unlike conventional cables, these continue to function even during a fire and do not emit smoke or toxic gases – making them safer for both people and the environment. We are pleased that through this partnership, we have the opportunity to raise public awareness about the importance of fire-resistant cabling products, which we believe will help prevent fatal incidents caused by improperly selected cables and ultimately strengthen fire safety across the country,” said Davit Kapanadze, Managing Director of Sakcable.
“Electrical damage and faults remain one of the leading causes of fires in buildings. An improperly selected cable can easily become the source or driver of a fire. Through our partnership with Sakcable, we aim to educate construction professionals and the wider public on how significantly proper cable selection and installation, in line with established standards, affect our safety. This collaboration represents an important step forward toward introducing modern fire prevention standards in Georgia,” said Giorgi Bajelidze, Executive Director of the Georgian Fire Prevention Association.
